Abstract:

X-raymicrocomputed-tomography(micro-CT)isatechniquethatproduceshighresolution(microntosub-micron)imagestacksthatcanbeusedtogeneratedigitalthree-dimensionalmodelsofsamples.Herewewillshowhowweadoptedthistechniqueintobiodiversityresearchforsomedeep-seamacrobenthos:1)weusedittotrackthekeydiagnosesforspeciesdelimitationofsomedeep-seascyphozoanpolyps2)toilluminatethehiddencomplexsymbioticbehaviorofcoral-sipunculian-polychaetesystem3)toconstructthe3Danatomyofadeep-seabrachiopodspecies,anddiscussitspotentialadaptivestrategies.  

Bio:

宋希坤博士于2017年1月获中国科学院大学、中国科学院海洋研究所博士学位（导师刘瑞玉院士），2017年3月进入MEL开展博士后研究。研究兴趣为海洋底栖生物系统学与多样性，合作导师为柯才焕教授。在站期间获国家自然科学基金(41876180)、中国博士后科学基金 (2018M632579、2018T110647)及2018年中国博士后科学基金会优秀学术专著出版资助。
